The 2nd annual Freeze to the Finish 5K was held on Saturday, February 24 in Downtown Alexandria to raise awareness and support for homelessness programs managed by the Central Louisiana Homeless Coalition. We had over 175 people participate in the 5K. This year’s Freeze to the Finish also included a new “Homeless Heroes Campaign” where runners, walkers, and supporters of the 5K helped the organization reach its fundraising goal by creating their own fundraising page. Homeless Heroes raised a total of $4,831 in its first year, with the top Hero award going to Jordyn’s Homeless Hero Team, which raised over $3,000! All proceeds from the Freeze to the Finish and the Homeless Heroes Campaign support the Outreach and Housing programs sponsored by the organization. We want to offer a huge thank you to the sponsors of the event: Cleco, Red River Bank, Ray Hyde Paint and Body Works, Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, McBride Law Firm, Louisiana Athletic Club, Wildwood Pizza, Visual Concepts and Designs, Outlaws Barbecue, Ugly Mug Marketing, and Little Cakes with Big Attitude.
